Walk This Way! Win a pedometer

Random.org has chosen #11 as the winner! Melissa from Virginia! Thank you for entering. More giveaways on the way!!!

Pedometer Back when I was single and self-centered, I actually used to WALK to the gym, workout, and WALK back home. Now, some days, I'm lucky if I walk out to get the mail. Lately, I've been making an effort to get together with friends and do power stroller walks. I throw Chip and Lulu in the Bob Revolution Duallie and hit the pavement. As someone who is obsessed with keeping track of everything (yes, I balance my checkbook and so should you), I've always wanted a pedometer. However, which one to buy was something I just didn't have the time to look into. Lucky for me, when the offer came from Omron Healthcare to review a pocket pedometer, I leapt at the opportunity. They sent me their most technologically advanced pedometer, model HJ-720ITC, which includes software to let you track your steps and progress by downloading the data to your computer. There are some very neat features on this pedometer. One is that it has a safety leash, so you can't lose it as easily. It can be clipped to your waistband or put in your pocket, it's not required to be in a certain position like many other pedometers. It records the number of regular and aerobic steps taken, number of calories and fat burned, and walking distance. It seems quite accurate as I counted my steps and they matched up very closely. Then you can download all your data to your computer and track your stats. The pedometer stores up to 41 days of data and displays the most recent 7 days.

It's walk-a-thon season around here. In the past month I've donated to walks for: The March of Dimes, Autism and Cystic Fibrosis. This Omron pedometer would be an excellent addition to any walk, especially one for a good cause. Omron even donated a pedometer to be awarded to the mom from my MOMS Club who raised the most for the Autism walk. The Omron HJ-720ITC can be purchased online on a number of sites. It retails for $59.99. But, before you order one.....Try to win one here! Omron has given me one more pedometer to give away! Here is how you enter: Contest period runs from Friday, May 8, 2009 at 12:01 am (Pacific) until Monday, May 18, 2009 at midnight (Pacific). Enter by leaving a comment stating where you would like to walk with your pedometer and leave your e-mail address. If you don't leave your e-mail address, I cannot contact you if you win and your entry will be disqualified. At the end of the contest period, I will utilize Random.org to randomly choose a winner. Winner will be announced the business day following the end of the contest period. Winner has 72 hours to respond to my e-mail. If winner does not respond within 72 hours, pedometer will go to the second place winner as decided by Random.org. Winner must have an address in the United States. Now get walking!!!

My kids and I prefer to walk everywhere. And being newly single, it's important to keep my butt the size it SHOULD BE. To the mall, the bank, the market, the post office - we hit the stroller walk every time now. I'd love to be able to see my progress!

We'd use it to go trail walking, because sometimes I get a little carried away and forget that I'm going to have to turn around and go back!

I don't want to get any fatter and need to walk more! Helps your blood sugar too, I think... My kids love the stroller ride so this will be a big help! We'll hit Polliwog Park, the MB Pier and strand, and just start walking to and from MyGym again...

Love always,
Heather

I need to know how far my neighborhood run is and a pedometer would be great for that. And it might convince me to walk a little more at the end of the day if I am close to those 10,000 steps!

My arthritis knees have been telling me to stay put and stay home. However, my Dr. and my heart have been yelling at me to get out of the house and start walking and exercising. I need one to monitor how much I can walk a day.

I will use it to walk around my neighborhood and perhaps increase my present level of exercise. I would also bring along my daughter who is handicapped in her stroller/wheelchair. Thanks for the opportunity!
